Family separation can occur for many reasons, but children often continue to benefit from safe, positive relationships with their caregivers. Research consistently shows that supportive, stable connections with parents play an important role in a child’s emotional and developmental well-being. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) identifies family conflict, abuse, and other disruptions as part of a group of risk factors known as Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). Studies indicate that safe, stable, and nurturing relationships with caregivers can help reduce the long-term impact of these experiences and support healthier outcomes for children.

Supervised visitation at MillarRich Family Services is structured to provide children with a calm, supportive environment that is separate from ongoing family conflict. Visits are carefully guided to ensure interactions remain child-focused and appropriate. Conversations or activities that could introduce conflict are limited in order to protect the child’s emotional well-being. This structured approach helps create a safe and stable setting where children can spend time with their parents while their safety and psychological well-being remain the priority.

MillarRich Family Services follows established best practices by scheduling staggered arrival and departure times for each parent.
